Okay as a mindless read. Characters have no depth.

Some of the worst writing I have ever encountered.
Nearly all of the "action" takes place via cell-phone; in fact, no less than three times we find these exact words: "His cell buzzed again. Hello?"

Bel-Air Dead ----
By Stuart Woods c - 2011 ----

A good read ----
This story opens at Elaine’s, where Stone and Dino are having Dinner. Arrington the mother of Stones son calls Stone on his cell phone. ---- Arrington needs Stone to manage a business deal in sunny Calif. Stone agrees and takes Dino his old detective friend along to rescue the movie studio. ----
Off to sunny California go Stone and Dino. And old characters Drift in and out of this story. Everything is done real quick and just plain: Pat. ----
I don’t know who it is that needs the vacation: 1. Mr. Woods, 2. His Editor. 3. or Me. ----

Enjoy! ----
