I love this author, she just write the typical romance. Her problems are solvable and keeps it moving. Read it twice. Interesting as I don't know much about the Alabama coast. Also going thru what some woman are actually going thru. Contemporary story line

A novel ... not much excitement .. lost years of her mothers life..& lost loves

Pretty standard women's fiction - perfect housewife is dissatisfied and not sure why, mom passes away leaving a trail of secrets the housewife will uncover on her way to fulfillment. But the characters are really strong, especially Ellie, which makes it easy to relate to her struggle.

The pros: This book is well-paced, with fairly florid prose and beautiful imagery.
The cons: The plot is fairly predictable, the dialogue strikes me as unrealistic and over-stated, the characters are clearly Good or Bad, the main character is so naive and flat that I have a hard time believing she is in her 40s.
Maybe, though, this book just isn't my usual cup of tea. If you like married women in a mid-life crisis literature, I would recommend it. Otherwise, feel free to skip this one.
