Lots of religious and art history in this entry in the series. Dr. Brockton might be in over his head and his feelings for his graduate assistant come into play as he tries to save her life.

A surprisingly mesmerizing story, combining detailed fact and well-written fiction. I wish the previous Jefefrson Bass books also had international backdrops. The American scenarios of body farms are not of particular interest to me, though I have no doubt they are also perfectly researched and well-written . I was particularly intrigued by the Simone Martini/Petrarch/Meister Eckhart connections. An excellent read!
