I was led to this brilliant book by Christy Hale because I was co-planning some building activities with everyday materials at my library branch for an upcoming school PA day. The photos are wonderful and the illustrations of kids using simple materials is inspiring. I love how the shape of each page of writing mimics the shape of each building it describes. A somewhat challenging read aloud, but perfect for grabbing the attention of budding architects and engineers! Also useful for a unit illustrating shape (poetry) writing. The index provides the actual location and details of each building. Definitely worth a look over!
