When Jessie and her Grandmother go into a deserted yard of Jessie's Grandmother's old friend they find a garden gnome and when Jessie touches it's head they find out that it is alive! The gnome says that his name is Bilbert. Then Jessie takes Bilbert to the realm. He has to say pretty please with sugar on it and you're not a little pet horse clever brave Maybelle to Maybelle so he can go back home. Maybelle takes Giff,Jessie and Bilbert to Bilbert's home but when they get there they don't see any fairy-apple trees! Then Jessie tells Bilbert to comb his beard because there are fairy-apple seeds in it. After that Bilbert gives Jessie a present. It is a fairy-apple tree seed. When Jessie gets home she plants it.

This is a great book.
