"Ashley is bracing herself for the worst summer of her life. Her best friend is moving away, and instead of being able to join her at camp for their last weeks together, Ash finds out her mom has arranged for some strange little girl to come and stay with them. Then seven-year-old Claire shows up. Armed with a love of thrift-shop clothes and an altogether too-sunny disposition, Claire proceeds to turn Ash's carefully constructed life upside down. Besides, Ash has a secret. Ash, who is petrified of change and new people, has discovered a magical jar in her basement. It's a wish jar, filled with someone's old wishes--and it has the power to send her back in time and provide a window into another friendship between two girls. Discovering her own connection to the girls' story shows Ash that her life is full of surprises and friends she never saw coming. And while this may not be the summer that she expected, it could actually turn out to be the best summer of her life."--Dust jacket flap.

This was an amazing book. It was super interesting, and you could feel if the characters were real. Each character has a different personality, interests, and flaws. The best parts of the story was Claire's bubbly personality and how the book comes together at the end so well that its strangely satisfying! Amazing book!

This summer tale about a preteen girl is filled with mystery, friendship and learning opportunities. Ashley's best friend, Lucy, is moving away at the end of the summer. Instead of spending the whole summer at camp together, Ashley is committed to helping babysit seven-year-old Claire for a month first. Claire has a list of things she wants to do and Ashley is not thrilled about them at first. Meanwhile Ashley discovers a jar filled with wishes in her basement. As she reads the wishes one at a time she is transported to the past. Who are the girls she is seeing? Why does one of the businesses she sees in one of those episode also in a slide that she sees a friend is adding to an anniversary slide show? Why is Peter at the VS Depot always want to talk about the book Ashley is reading? All of these plot threads are drawn together neatly by Harper by the end and the reader finds themselves a bit misty-eyed. Highly recommended. Would make a great read aloud.

Dreamer Wisher Liar is full of secrets and surprises. The book is one big puzzle that slowly falls together towards the end. I recommend this book to dreamers, wishers, and even liars.
