Add a CommentA stellar memoir/novel, read brilliantly by George Guidall. On'y someone of Guidall's caliber would have dared to "be" Wiesel.
Everyone should read this book, that is all I can say.
Feb 2015......so glad that I listened to this, I have lived such a sheltered and blessed life, stories like this jolt me into appreciating that fact.......Nov 2015 going to listen to it again!
This audiobook is much better than the printed one (as is the case with most great books); its much more powerful and enraging and heartbreaking.
Elie Wiesel's Night stands out among the many books I've read about the Holocaust. Wiesel recounts his experiences as a Jewish prisoner in Nazi labor camps. While difficult to read, Wiesel also conveys the hope he held to in spite of incomprehensible fear and constant brutality. This is an important, exceptional book worthy of every reading list.
Night - simply an amazing book by Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel narrated by George Guidall. Mr. Guidall’s reading of this book was exceptional. I highly recommend this remarkable book which tells of Eliezer’s forced journey into one of Germany’s concentration camps after another and his amazing struggle to survive. What he and his father were forced to endure goes beyond one’s understanding. For those who enjoy listening to recorded books, please note that the Preface to the New Translation by Elie Wiesel and the Forward by Francois Mauriac are on the later part of disk four of four.
