On Solange's sixteenth birthday, she is going to wake up dead. As if that's not bad enough, she also has to outwit her seven overprotective older brothers, avoid the politics involved with being the only daughter born to an ancient vampire dynasty, and elude Kieran Black—agent of an anti-vampire league who is searching for his father's killer and is intent on staking Solange and her entire family. Luckily she has her own secret weapon—her human best friend Lucy—who is willing to defend Solange's right to a normal life, whether she's being smothered by her well-intentioned brothers or abducted by a power-hungry queen. Two unlikely alliances are formed in a race to save Solange's eternal life—Lucy and Solange's brother Nicholas, and Solange and Kieran Black—in a dual romance that is guaranteed to jump start any romance-lover's heart. Even fans of the genre who've seen it all will find a fresh read with kick-butt characters and family dynamics that ring true for all brothers and sisters—vampire or otherwise. Watch out, Buffy! A reluctant vampire princess takes on all comers in an action-packed, romantic, and snarky addition to this red-hot genre Alyxandra Harvey studied creative writing and literature at York University and has had her poetry published in several magazines. When not writing, she is a belly dancer and jewelry-maker. She lives in an old farmhouse with her husband, hawk, and two dogs. www.alyxandraharvey.com

I have no idea how I stumbled upon this book but I am very glad that I did. I loved the vampire twist that Harvey put on snow white and the seven dwarves with Solange and her brothers. I also loved the unique take on the overdone vampire plot, it wasn't as weird or cliche as Twilight but it was still really interesting. Or maybe it was overly cliche and that's what I loved about it. All in all, I loved the dynamics between the characters, especially Solange and Lucy's friendship, it just seems so relatable and unbelievable at the same time.

You know those books that aren't the most interesting books you have ever read, but for some reason, you just can't put it down? Well, this is one of those books.

In the beginning, I was reluctant to read this book beacuse there weren't that many ratings, so there was a chance that people didn't like this book, or they haven't found out about it yet. I found out that it was just because it wasn't that popular.

On the back of the book, it said 'For fans of Stephenie Meyer...' and it's true. I didn't really like Twilight, although my opinion of it may have been affected by other people's opinions, but I could see Twilight fans enjoying it.

This book also has no werewolves, but it has two romances (...if that makes sense...), which is awesome because i really dislike love triangles (unless they are wonderfully written).

This was a great read that I would recommend to all those vampire lovers out there!

This book was really good. Lucy was my favourite character, but Solonge wasn't ad in anyway. I relate better to Lucy, punched a few people who have annoyed me too much also. :)

I loved this book! Lucy is my favourite character even though the book is shared with Solonge. I am reading the whole series and it is just plain mind blowing!you will love this book if you are the type for a comedy and open character, the Lucy and this book is for you!
