Author lacks story-telling abilities. A girl and her brother - tons of potential - but no solid story or connection between what's happening page to page. Less than impressive illustrations. My children were bored.

I am in junior high and this is one of my favourite children's books/series. I'm a bit older than the audience that this series is intended for, but I read them in French as practice. I also read them to my younger brother, who is too young to understand them yet, but one day he will appreciate them.

Stella and her brother Sam are cute siblings who have a lot of freedom to roam around outside and go on many little adventures. There isn't a strong plot in any of the books, but a plot isn't needed. It is enjoyable enough just to read Sam's relentless questions and Stella's creative answers.

I would recommend this for ages 2-8, but older children and adults will also enjoy them, especially if reading aloud to a younger child.

The TV show is also good for little children.
