Book 6

Love this book! Second to last in the series, and maybe a close second as my favourite!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth book in the Harry Potter series. Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters are on the rise and Harry Potter knows that in order to protect his friends, classmates, and the magical world he has come to love, he must confront his destiny. Along with Ron and Hermione, Harry will have to use all of his knowledge, strength, bravery, and courage to prepare for all the challenges he is going to face. Here on out, his journey will be dark, twisted, and confusing; but the clock is ticking, Voldemort is coming, and Harry has no time to waste. Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince is a mature read and is not suitable for younger readers. The plot itself can also be harder to understand as it involves characters problem solving and discovering other characters hidden secrets. If you could handle the sadness and the heartbreak of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, then you should definitely read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Overall, I would have to rate this book four out of five stars.

Jim Dale creates a superb narration for this magnificent series.
The Half-Blood Prince is the sixth in this seven-part saga,
the first British fantasy novel ever to compare with Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.
And speaking of British, the UK audiobook is read by Stephen Fry
and is equally engaging and entertaining to Jim Dale’s version.
Highly recommended.

In contrast to the first five books this book is a fair bit darker, but as such it tackles slightly mature and complex themes that will surely be of interest to teens and adults alike.

I have read every book except the last one and watched the first two! Every book keeps on getting better. I rate this 999,000,000 out of 10.

Jim Dale creates a fantastic cast of voices. The sixth book in the Harry Potter series is well crafted; it's hard to leave the car when this is playing!

I've listened to earlier Harry Potter books narrated by Jim Dale. In early books he pronounces Voldemort with a silent T...voldemor, the way it would be pronounced if it were a French name. In this book, the Half-Blood Prince, the final T is restored. I wonder if the French officially or unofficially objected.

On a different matter,at least half a dozen times in this text, and perhaps in the texts of other books by Rowling, the word COMPRISE is used where COMPOSE is wanted. If you are a parent, be sure to point this out to your young listeners lest they pick up the bad habit.Comprise and compose are NOT synonymous.
