"Sunny has always taken the Dragonet Prophecy very seriously. If Pyrrhia's dragons need her, Clay, Tsunami, Glory, and Starflight to end the war, she's ready to try. She even has some good ideas how to do it, if anyone would listen to her. But shattering news from Morrowseer has shaken Sunny's faith in their destiny. Is it possible for anyone to end this terrible war and choose a new SandWing queen? What if everything they've been through was for nothing? Buried secrets, deadly surprises, and an unexpected side to scavengers are all waiting for her in the shifting sands of the desert, where Sunny must decide once and for all: Is her destiny already written? Or can five dragonets change their fate and save the world . . . the way they choose?"--P. [4] of cover.

In The Brightest Night, Sunny adventures into the SandWing kingdom. The story is told from Sunny’s perspective, and the reader sees how she responds to the Dragonet Prophecy, which she had always been a devout believer of, being made up. I felt somewhat disappointed by the calm way Sunny reacted to the prophecy being made up, because I was hoping for there to be more indignation and anger in response how she and the dragonets were separated from their families since birth because of a prophecy that was never real in the first place. As always, there are many twists throughout the novel, and even though her personality didn’t develop much, I enjoyed seeing how much more proactive Sunny was in taking action against the obstacles in her way since the beginning of the series.  I especially liked the surprising way she decided to fulfill the prophecy. Overall a 4/5, would recommend this book as a fitting ending for the adventures of the dragonets of destiny!

HOLY FRICK. This is an insane series with mind-bending plot twists and an awesome storyline. This ended the best way it could, and I already reserved the entire next series. "I can't wait" is an understatement. It kinda reminds me of of Indiana Jone "The Last Crusade", Blister chose... Poorly.

My 15-year-old daughter has entire lines of these books memorized. She loves the way each new book explores another dragon character. Keep 'em coming, Ms. Sutherland! We eagerly await the next one.

this is my fave one

This book is about Sunny going to the Kingdom of Sand and her adventure there. I liked this book because it made me feel like I just could not stop reading it. This is because it is written from Sunny's perspective so you will keep being curious about what she is thinking. Another thing I liked about this book was the cover because it is very detailed and artistic. Even though there is a saying that you should not judge a book by its cover, that does not apply to this book becausethe cover and the book are really good. For example, the wings and the background are very detailed. I recommend this book to people who like to read adventure, fantasy fiction, or just dragon books in general. My age recommendation for this book is people 8 or above but if you can read chapter books in general, then you are qualified to read this book.
