Reminiscent of Little Women, but with the misadventures of Anne of Green Gables, the Penderwicks are a loveable set of sisters. The story has an old fashioned feel set in more modern times.

The series is a fantastic series for any lover of realistic fiction and some mild hi-jinks and adventure. You will fall in love with the four Penderwick sisters.

A purely lovely novel for all ages--lighthearted, well plotted, great characters. My kids and I have read and re-read all of the books in the Penderwicks series and consider ourselves honorary MOPs. This is not just a book for girls! My 9-year-old son is a huge fan. Great for summer reading.

This book was an unexpected pleasure. It is a fun, sweet story about four sisters and their summer adventures while on a holiday. Each sister has her own unique personality and each readers will have a different favourite. (My favourite is Rosalind). The story is a perfect blend of modern spirit and old-fashioned charm. This book is ideal for girls grades 4-8 and for adults who would enjoy a well-written, fresh, funny, new children's book.
