The movie that best captures the essence of the corresponding novel. This particular movie is well paced and touches on many of the moments that make the novel special. It also holds up well considering that it was released in 2001. A great film to watch that truly feels magical.

This is a standard (3:5) format movie not a widescreen version like indicated in the description.

Well made, magical adaption of the bestselling book. Although the SFX is a bit outdated, I still enjoyed the first remarkable adventure of The Boy Who Lived—Harry Potter.

Wow, this was actually pretty good and true to the book! This was a very fun movie to watch. It follows the adventures of an 11-year-old boy who discovers that he is a wizard.
But, dear people who haven't read the books: you don't know what you're missing. If you love Harry Potter because of the movies, then you should read the books because you'll get so much more!

Snape is exactly what I expected! Very Snape-ish. Great movie! But it might be a little scary for younger people, considering that the kids were almost always in danger and the Voldemort/Quirrel merged heads bit. Overall great movie but the books were still better.

AWESOME! Content is great, but don't you agree that the characters look kind of seven year old-ish? Aren't they 11 for first years?

Chris Columbus brought to life a world, and I couldn't ask for it to have been done better.

Hermione: "Now, if you two don't mind, I’m going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed or worse… expelled!"
Ron: "She needs to sort out her priorities!"
