I never knew it was possible to hate-read a gardening book. The author really seems to believe he's the leader of a revolution, and a lot of self-appointed leaders of revolutions are really annoying.

The method that he describes (TL;DR: Make 4 ft by 4 ft raised beds, and divide them into square-foot sections, and plant something in each) is probably sound, although also probably not as miraculous as he describes. Growing tips for individual plants are a bit better, but they come right at the end—after you have to wade through tripe like "Women tell me they love this because it requires no tools, wire cutting, equipment, or familiarity with construction."

Just ugh.

Despite too much self promotion and going over board with redundancies, this book share a lot of easy to understand and practical information to get anybody gardening.
I would buy it for the appendix alone.

Good concept for home gardeners. The ideas are not new but are well organized and easy to follow.
The author is pretentious, arrogant and his writing style is like a TV infomercial. Really annoying!!

This is the best gardening book I have read, and this Spring/summer I have been doing a LOT of garden book reading trying to learn about gardening. I am now on a search for my own copy - I plan on following this method next year no questions asked!! This guy is a genius! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book!

Very annoying writing style, especially all the testimonials. Some good ideas perhaps, but not suited to everyone, and relies on very heavy watering and fertilization.
