This worked out better in story time by making it interactive, having the kids to the actions mentioned by each cat.

Nice simple story.

You can't be a cat! You're too small, too gray, short and chubby! Discover why Simon is indeed part of the cat family.

The expressions on the cat's face are wonderful as he convinces the big cats that he is part of their family. There's a little bit of comparative biology involved as little cat explains the similarities of felines. This would be a great addition to storytime.

A simple but clever take on similarities and differences that could easily start a larger conversation with young kids. The book has some laugh out loud moments too. My favorite is when the big cats all look shocked and then crack up laughing.

Planning to pair this "fiction" with a non-fiction for a preschool cat storytime! @Wonderopolis
