This finishes off this epistolary sci fi trilogy - I liked how much was on the new planet, and the fact that the planet insists on no interference feels familiar.....Anyway, I also felt the wrap up was also effective, because that's how it would go down here. A very cool premise with interesting characters, and a different format.

Man I hated this book. If I were not already invested in the trilogy, having read books one and two, I would have ditched this book 30 pages in. Terrible. Absolutely terrible. I didn't think it was possible to actually loath a fictional character, but Sylvain Neuvel made it possible. If you've made it this far in to the series you're going to read this book, and that's shame. I'd rather have spent my time reading a good book instead of this one.

This final part of the trilogy was a pleasant surprise. Sleeping Giants was a great story, but Waking Gods, with all its blood and gore, and the strained attempt to keep it in the original fascinating format, just fell flat. Although Only Human has some of the same adulatory Star Wars fighting and weapons, it deals much more with the protagonists’ feelings and motives. Wouldn’t I love to have a conversation with Rose or Eva! It was hard for me to believe Eva’s career move at the end of the book, but Neuvel’s fascination with flash won out. The author is a linguist, so I kept wondering if he were making a play on the German “echt” when he describes the aliens.

Creative juices must have dried up with this third book. Feels like someone spent a week writing it before publication. This never needed to be a trilogy.

A decent ending to a trilogy. The fact that a good portion of the book takes place on an alien planet made it interesting to read. It did go down a proverbial road that I figured it would go down and had typical social commentary. At times I felt it was pushed a little too hard which took away from the story. I was happy to read all three books and will be curious to see if the author comes out with more. If you've read the first two, no reason not to read the third.

This is the 3rd and final story of the series. The last book is more trying to show and talk about us humans, our faults and attitudes which we are still carrying in this century as we are never able to learn from our mistakes, it doesn't matter that the enemy is within or without , an alien race or just another human beings. We, as humans definitely have growing up to do....at least that what I get out of the author's thinking and I have to agree with him. I know that he tries to cover it up that even in a much more advanced world the same problems might exit as on Earth, but I think that is just bit cover up of the main point of the book we have to change our thinking or...we eventually just destroy ourselves.... It is an alright finish, but it is still the first book which was my favorite of the 3 books...
