Something has happened to Peach. Staggering around the town streets in the aftermath of an assault, Peach feels a trickle of blood down her legs, a lingering smell of her anonymous attacker on her skin. It hurts to walk, but she manages to make her way to her home, where she stumbles into another oddly nightmarish reality: Her parents can't seem to comprehend that anything has happened to their daughter.

Violent and intense....tough to summarize....trauma very disturbing...won't be a fit for
everyone...story is confusing at times and I'm unsure of the ending

This was something I grabbed for its size I was looking for a quick read and was so surprised. Her story line is so incredibly unique unlike anything I have read. I love the way she writes and look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

This should come with a warning.

The first ten pages are brutal reading, I can't go on, maybe I will. The psychic carnage to yourself just by reading that much may stop you.

I had to put it down, uncertain, unwilling to turn out the lights, inner soul shaking....

Is this a recommendation? unsure, unhappy, if moved by writing description/s starkly realistic of human horror that is not a horror story (I think it's not)... at what point is this just sadism disguised as fiction? (punishment of the reader by trying to open the book, turn the pages, worse than paper cuts, worse than but not worse than what is being described).

And ... that's just a review of the first ten pages!
