I'll be honest: I don't remember anything from this movie being in the book, but if you separate the two, this is one of the best kids' movies I've seen in a while. It has a powerful message of self worth and self esteem, so powerful, it made me cry.

It kind of just threw a lot at you at once. It made me want to re-read the book to get a better grasp and more detail. Creative movie, nice CG but just a lot at once with little to no explanation or reason. Would recommend the book more.

An AWFUL movie! It is pathetic that they took something as wise, possibly profound, as the book "A Wrinkle In Time" and turned it into such an idiotic, shallow movie that has no message or cohesion that even a kid could follow or enjoy. 115 minutes of agony you don't need to inflict on yourself or your worst enemy.

It's pretty obvious that whoever adapted the book to make this movie did not understand the book.
Nobody who read and understood the book would like this movie.
And anybody who saw this movie but did not read the book would be totally mystified as to what it was all about.
Two hours out of my life that I'll never get back.
And what was up with Oprah's outfits? She looked like someone who got their invitation to the Star Trek theme party when it was too late to plan a costume.

I enjoyed the premise of the movie. A child learning confidence in a positive way. While entertaining for most of the movie I found that near the end of it, in the dark place was way too long getting to the point. As that was the only boring part I gave it four stars.

I watched this movie because Brie Larson said it was a love letter to women of color. Well, there were certainly a lot of women of color in the movie.
I haven't read the book or watched the older movie. I enjoyed the more realistic parts (school scenes) and the moments of depth and philosophy, but all the supernatural stuff came across as just ridiculous.

As with most books made into movies, it was VERY DISAPPOINTING. The book explained things, the movie was just an adventure with no point except to rescue the dad. I suggest everyone read the book and skip the movie.

This movie was a hot mess. It was just weird and felt like a waste of time. Oprah Winfrey looked ridiculous.

The child actors were terrific. Overall, the movie was good. Some parts hard to follow.
