I don't think I'll be able to look at any food the same again! Good watch

While it's entertaining, this is not a documentary; it's more a soapbox for pro-vegetarian diets. A soft docu-propanda. Can we make this a new category of what you can watch? The movie cherry picks research, medical experts and patients to support its points.

I researched and found every medical experts in this 'docu-propaganda' and to be promoting vegetarianism or in some enterprise for health consulting. Some of the science shown in this docu-propaganda is dubious at best.

For those who may be less knowledgeable about science and medical issues, and do not fact or credibility-check, this might seem like a 'breakthrough documentary' with amazing information. However, if you verify and clarify what was shown in this docu-propaganda, you'd be astounded with the skewed presentation. This docu-propaganda probably is counting on viewers' naivete and/or unlikelihood to fact-check.

BTW, I am not a big meat-eater nor am I a vegetarianism. My diet is mainly plant-based with occasional meat intake. In short, moderation and health-focused; theoretically neutral in opinion for this docu-propaganda.

I only read and rely on data and recommendation from university research labs, reputable research labs in USA, Canada, UK, some European countries and from the government health organizations. Now I may have to WIPE OFF the government and some health organizations from that list! BBC (UK) health related documentaries tend to be anti-lobbyist and seem to be more trust-worthy than many other web pages.

The conclusions in this DVD are drawn too hastily and definitely too good to be true!

The author and some Dr. (!) are a bit naive or ignorant by comparing human with other animal species (example: cows, elephants). The period which human knows how to keep fire, cook (vegetables, meats,...) and cultivate is quite short compare to the existence of the human race. More than five thousand years ago without wild meat, human may not exist and become today human. Only after knowing how to boil and cook vegetable, human could absorb this type of nutrition (protein, vitamin,...) more easily. By quickly conclude human needs no animal protein, then adding the requirement of vitamin supplements, its conclusion without proof of actual extended scientific studies is no better.

About health, we better not believe in words of mouth from a few individuals (even with Doctorate degree) , we should consult trust-worthy (!?) research studies based on thousand of people and for a number of years (how many years ?)

Bottom line take away from this film: Diabetes is caused by the consumption of meat. An abundance of animal fat prevents insulin from being able to do its job to connect with sugars in the bloodstream. This means that there is excess insulin in the blood stream - yet because the sugar is not being properly processed, more insulin is produced. Vicious circle.
That's how I remember the explanation in the film, and I believe that my memory is correct.

This DVD is definitely a plug for vegan eating (not even vegetarian). I do try to eat vegan or vegetarian once or twice a week however, I am sure that my spouse would not endorse the vegan lifestyle! I am quite surprised that the DVD does NOT mention alcohol and it's effects on one's health. My motto is everything in moderation!
PS. I am enjoying experimenting with 0% and 0.5% beers both in pubs and from the grocery stores - give them a try!

This is the documentary that people across America have been talking about. From the makers of Cowspiracy -- now they turn their attention to the large organizations that Americans have been turing to for health information and asking, "Why are so many of these organizations failing to promote guidelines that are most consistent with what the bulk of nutritional science says?"
.
And then they follow the money....
