This book is extremely repetitive & after reading the first three chapters I had a clear understanding on what this book is about. Love the message but feel this book could’ve been wrapped up in one sentence.

Amazing book. I recommend!!
Changed a lot of my perspectives, and I feel in control of myself. Controlling what I think about and how I think about things is something that makes me feel great!

Thankfulness works in different ways for different people. For the one who was born with very good health it may prolong their life (may be even by seven years). while who are born with a genetic diseases - as some families have married for centuries close relatives - may have (not all) - then the baby born with a brain tumor or enzyme deficiency - still the parents can thank for the experience which will make them kinder and gentler people towards others.
It is wise to refrain projecting ones own personal experiences and psychological view points into any book of wisdom. We say - in my family - "Alhamdulillah Kulla Haga" - daily. means - Thank you God no matter what.
Otherwise how can the Muslims survive this huge carnage in this century? that is how we survive - By The Grace of God's Mercy to be humble and hope for a better life in the Afterlife. Thank you for reading.

The 13th century philosopher Meister Eckhart said in one sentence what Ms. Byrne takes a whole book to say, "If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough." Of course, he didn't promise rewards for being thankful as Ms. Byrne does, nor did he suggest any bad things in your life were caused by your lack of gratitude.
Ms. Byrne started to lose me when she directed readers to find a Magic Rock, hold it in their hands before going to sleep, say thank you for the best thing that happened to you that day, and then put the Magic Rock beside your bed.
Ms. Byrne then totally lost me with her assertion that "the degree you're not grateful is the exact degree that your health will decrease". Who knew that the cure for all our physical ailments was simply being grateful.
She refers to research studies to justify the claims she makes; for example, "Studies have also revealed that people who practise gratitude heal faster, and are likely to live seven years longer!" However, she does not cite the specific studies that prove these claims.
I do believe a positive and thankful attitude impacts your life; I just find Ms. Byrne's concept of "magic" rather distasteful.

This book definitely opens your eyes/mind to being thankful and grateful for what is around you.

This book begins where "The Secret" left off. It's just as simple yet powerful. The author indicates that being grateful for what we have will help what we seek flow towards us. She explains her credo in a very believable fashion. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain by trying out her suggestions. I for one am going to.

This is one of the most pretentious, boring and misleading books I have ever read. It's definitely NOT about a "secret" as it has been openly written about for centuries, and practiced for a long time, especially in competitive sports and business practices. There have also been hundreds of books written about this, at least since the 1970's (I even own one from that period). The book can be reduced to one statement: "Whatever you believe in, you can manifest". And this concept is repeated, in various boring forms, without exaggeration, about a thousand times throughout the book. I was disappointed because I though she would reveal the source and contents of some of her mysterious ancient sources. However, she barely mentions them, and the main old source appears to be - the Bible. Don't waste your time with this nonsense - it is only the author's scheme to gain riches through her sales and speaking engagements.

The magic is about making your dreams comes true. Its a book that was written to help people realize that they need to change their way of thinking in order to change their life. There are tasks that we must do every day to get the maximum amount of magic in our lives. We learn to use gratitude in our everyday lives and immediately we see a change. To fix broken relationships we have to be thankful for the people in our lives. I had to read this book for school and I really liked it. Some parts might have sounded a little cheesy, but I really do believe that we are the ones who make our lives the way they are. Every one of our thoughts, our actions has lead us to the life we live. The author uses her own experiences to show us that our lives can change for the better. The layout of the book is cool because at the beginning of each chapter there is a picture and a quote. At the end of the chapter, she makes us a magic to do list. This is to help keep us on the right track to an improved life. The main audience is adults because they have more in their lives to change. The author also uses scientific references to prove her point. She believes in the law of the law of the universe. If we imagine something we want, and we see ourselves with it, the universe will move to closer to us. This book is good for negative people because it will help them learn that they are the ones who need to change before their life changes.
