Silverstein is not your typical children's writer. He makes leaps and bounds most adults wouldn't dare, and his young audience keeps right up with him. A talented illustrator, his images are the best thing in this book; next to his poems, that is.

Whimsical and child-like; I most liked "Noise day", "The voice", "Woulda-coulda-shoulda", "Bituminous?", and "Tell me".

I like his poems. They are funny, but i like a light in the attic better

The publishing of WHERE THE SIDEWALK ENDS marked a watershed for Shel Silverstein, and children's poetry in general. Silverstein matches that achievement with FALLING UP: POEMS AND DRAWINGS (HarperCollins). Not your typical children's writer, he takes risks most adults wouldn't dare, and his young audience keeps right up with him. His talent for poetry is matched only by his talent for drawing.
