SummaryAdd a Summary
Most of this book provides a detailed description of the way the Stanford Prison Experiment was conducted in 1971, followed by reasons why understanding this experiment can help us understand other situations where seemingly good and normal people have behaved in cruel ways (such as at Abu Ghraib prison).
If, like me, you are fascinated by the SPE, an excellent documentary was released in 2015 (directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez) that reenacts the scenario using Zimbardo's original documentation. It is chilling to watch.
