Great for a reading group! I lead a 4th grade reading group at my son's public school & we are currently working on this book. I have strong readers - boys - who nevertheless fall into the "reluctant" category, and this has really gripped them. It has some "Hatchet"-like survival aspects but also an almost fantasy atmosphere in places. This week I told each boy to research one of the names from Greek mythology that appear in the book - for instance, in this story of treasure hunters, one is a policeman nicknamed "Sirens." Not, I think, a coincidence. We're getting really good discussions out of it so far.
