The author of this book shares with you a lot of great insights into what makes a story work.

However, there should be a disclaimer on every book like this: namely that this type of analysis is not the key ingredient to writing a good story, its the key ingredient to being a good story analyst.

When he quotes a story from a guy like Stephen King and says "x works in this story because King understands such and such principle" its a bit inaccurate. The main reason Stephen King and other writers write good stories is because they have great imaginations and work hard on ideas that interest them and thats mostly what it takes to write a good story folk!

Enjoyed this a lot, in the midst of editing my own novel, so renewed a couple of times. Need to buy my own copy I guess.
