King Arthur-And His Knights Of The Round Table is a fictitious tale of a young King of Britain named Arthur Pendragon (better known as King Arthur) and his knights who have many adventures. It is an interesting read that contains danger, magic, sorrow, honour, chivalry, love, etc. With two hundred and eighty-two pages, this fascinating book written by Roger Lancelyn Green was first published by Puffin Books in 1953. The book begins with King Arthur's family history leading to what is present time in the book. He is a young man who has no idea that he is from a royal line (being adopted into another family) but after pulling a sword from a stone and being told that that was the test to determine Britain's king he quickly steps into his role. He battles Saxons, challenges kings, and among other things he and his knights go on challenging and dangerous quests that test them all.

If you are not willing, or able, to overlook the magic and moments of fond kisses that are throughout this tale I wouldn't recommend this book. But otherwise it is a legend full of gallant and brave men who risk their lives to keep their land peaceful and free.

Good book, much better than Howard Pyle's version.
