Not that great as there is not enough romantic content and too much problems with addiction

This was one of the hardest books to get through. I think part of the problem was the time-line. It goes frome the beginning of Bella's second trimester to Nalla's Birth. As far as I can tell, that is close to a year. The other part that made it so difficult was the details of addiction that she went into. I had a far easier time reading the books involving scenes of child abuse for the heroes than the scenes of drug use for Phury.

Wasn't too crazy about this one, but still a good book, he's still a BDB after all. :)

Since I'm feeling generous I rated this as a UF novel (even though it's marketed as a romance). I really enjoyed the five or so storylines that DIDN'T involve Phury and Cormia! It was worth reading this one however to be able to carry on to what some people say are two 2 best in the series (#7 & #8).

You couldn't call this one a PNR romance as the measly romantic content was brief and frustrating. The other 5 storylines standing alone were a good read.

You could almost call John the MAIN character of this book! Love him more and really enjoyed Quinn and all that happens with him. About Lash…OMG!

The "Lessor storyline" in this book, IMHO, was the most interesting "Lessor storyline" of the series so far. Look forward to seeing what happens in 7 & 8.

I'm really glad I read this book knowing (from a friend) that there was very little time spent with Phury and Cormia so I was prepared and ended up apathetic about the two initially.

Phury was an idiot half the time. Another "tortured" Brother. One of the main reasons we can sympathize with Phury was because of some "issues" in his head (I don't want to include spoilers) Why didn't we get more about the curse? Is it really real? I thought an explanation from the Scribe Virgin, who knows it all, would have been more satisfying for us readers.

The romantic ending was all great and sweet but too little too late. The scene which caused the fist fight between John and Phury only caused me to get bitter cause I'm sure every reader thinks "okay now this is finally it ... no more interruptions this time" and then what happens happens. Grrrr!

One scene I did love was when Phury drew an image of Cormia for her ... sexy scene but again…they were interrupted, as...usual!

BDB is overall a well-done series this is just simply not the best one.

Oh. God.

I would give this book 6 stars on 5 if I could! It is FUCKING AWESOME.

Hahah, if you find that offensive then this series isn't for you.

I think this is the best book so far.

And yeah. Couldn't stop smiling after page 500. :D

I love the black dagger brotherhood but didn't give this book as high a rating as the others. It was and ok read but I was disappointed how Phury's character turned out.

John Matthew.
John Matthew... that bastard. He was, like, twelve for godsakes. What the hell was he thinking, trying to sex her up? (Ward, 522)
