A worthwhile listen about interesting things Pausch has done. Reminiscent of Richard Dawkins' self-aggrandizing second biography "Brief Candle in the Dark". Obviously, it says right in the title it's a "lecture".

A touching series of lessons and memories by a man soon to die.

The content of this book (reviewed on audio) is inspirational. Agreed (from former comments) is the author's egotism, but hey, the man was dying. Let him have his day in the spotlight.

I haven't seen the lecture yet, but I had to stop listening to the book. Pausch's egotism became irritating, and the whole book ended up being about how great he lived his life. Although I highly respected his accomplishments the lack of humility ended up being difficult to bear.

I got this in audio version for a road trip. It is not actually his last lecture, contrary to the title. It is however, his story on what lead to him doing the lecture, his family, and comments about topics in his lecture with the background also. Despite this, it was still very good and quite worthwhile. It was a little over 4 hours on audio, so it killed some time during our long drive. It made my husband and I warm up and appreciate each other more, something needed after being in the car for two consecutive days, at 12 hours a day!

I started listening to this, but, due to time constraints, I then chose to read the book instead. I'm sure this is still great, based on the same content.
