like a goober I started out with Mississippi Blood. got so sucked in on that one went back about 4 or five and worked forward. finally got my hands on the first of the Penn Cage series. This is one of the best series that I have read in a while. have never had any inkling to go to Natchez but I'm thinking about it now!

read this one before you read Natchez Burning and the Bone Tree. It introduces all the characters in Isles new trilogy.
ABSOLUTE DYNAMITE READING!!!
