After enjoying the first book "Child 44" so much I guess I had my hopes up pretty high for this follow up, but the revenge-driven plot was a little to paint by numbers for my tastes. Some of the final "revelations" were distinctly soap-operatic. No complaints about the narration, though- Boutsikaris always puts in a good shift.
