He vows to obliterate the town and all its inhabitants the living and the undead. Claire Danvers and her friends are the only ones who stand in his way. Another very good book in the Morganville Vampire series. In this book, Claire is under Bishop's control because of his mark on her arm. She has to do what he says, but it seems that the mark is getting lighter as the story goes on. Eve and Michael are still planning on getting married against everyone's wishes. Claire and Shane are taking their romance to a new level. All this while they are trying to help destroy Bishop. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

This by far is the best book form the morganville series. Its a book that you just can't put down because every page something new happens. Even though Bishop thinks that he's got Claire and Michael on his side he's wrong.hehehe. Things can no longer be kept under wraps in town and it seems only Clair can help. The important vampires seem to trust her and she's given many weird and scary tasks to do but she tackles them with a maturity beyond her years. I love the love story developing (or should I say finally taking off) between her and Shane. Yahhh 5 stars!

Carpe Corpus" opens on Claire Danvers's 17th birthday. Her parents give her a necklace and a dress, but all she really wants is to see Shane Collins and she's willing to risk her life asking Bishop, the ancient vampire who's captured Morganville, to do so.

The four inhabitants of the Glass House are all scattered. Claire's living with her parents and serving Bishop against her will. Shane's caged with his vampire hating father, Frank. Michael looks like he's in Bishop's thrall. Eve is the lone inhabitant of the Glass House and she's trying to keep the place for her four friends.

But Amelie's, the former vampire ruler of Morganville, is back and things are not quite as they seem. Neither Ancient Myrnin or Michael is in thrall to Bishop after all. It's up to Claire to help get enough serum to heal the vampires of Morganville of the Alzheimer-like illness that Bishop probably gave them so they can get back their town.
