It is definitely a book for young girls, probably from ages 8-12. I still enjoy juvenile fiction even though I am way past the so-called age limit. Allie, the main character, who tells the story in first person, seems older than a nine-year-old to me. But it's a cute series, and it would be appropriate for readers in the aforementioned age group.
