Presenting twelve breakthrough practices for bringing creativity into all human endeavors, this book is the dynamic product of an extraordinary partnership. It combines Benjamin Zander's experience as conductor of the Boston Philharmonic and his talent as a teacher and communicator with psychotherapist Rosamund Stone Zander's genius for designing innovative paradigms for personal and professional fulfillment. The authors' harmoniously interwoven perspectives provide a deep sense of the powerful role that the notion of possibility can play in every aspect of life. After enjoying Ben Zander's enormously uplifting TED.com video, I discovered The Art of Possibility (Rosamund Stone Zander & Ben Zander) on my boyfriend's bookshelf. Bingo! Ben's enthusiasm and Rosamund's enlightening life perspective lift this book into the realm of one of the greats for me. They present deep truths about life here that anyone with a wise mentor or life guide (aka a wise grandmother/grandfather) has taught them... but, for the rest of us, reading The Art of Possibility will fill that role. Ben and Rosamund explain (via 12 "rules") that the actual possibilities in any one life at any moment are more than we have been taught in our upbringing, and more than we can imagine. Excellent book for any artist, entrepreneur, innovator, therapist/counsellor, teacher, parent, teenager... well, anyone!

A thought-provoking, uplifting read presented in digestible chapters that made me want to revisit the ideas long after I'd finished the book.

So many ways to apply it to both work and personal life!
