An excellent little book (for the sort of book that it is); I was particularly edified by three ideas I hadn't even known before: inclusive investment, inclusive wealth, and shadow prices. The illustrative technique of Desta and Becky and their households, communities, and governments that pervaded the book was helpful, especially in reminding the reader of the basic factual basis of economics (there is nothing about axiomatic economics in the book). The further reading section is very short (shorter than most in the VSI series).

A good introduction to Economics for the uninitiated (which I am).

This brief introduction does a great job of orienting the reader into some of the traditional concerns of economics and the more contemporary concerns. The analysis was thorough yet approachable. A great introduction to the study of economics.
