During World War II, bent on conquest, the German strategies became completely amoral, challenging and perhaps ending the concept of 'civilized warfare.' Through interviews with veterans, historians and ethicists from all the countries engaged in World War II, this American Experience film recounts the story of the Anglo-American bombing campaign against Germany, exploring the moral conundrums imposed by the reality of the war.

"American Experience" dvds are good quality and very informative. Only problem with this one was that it emphasized how the U.S. and British went from bombing only military targets in 1942 to civilian targets in late 1944. It would've been more balanced if they'd mentioned how the Nazi atrocities were being made known by 1944. The Nazis had to be stopped; things escalate, it was an enemy like no previous war. Surprisingly this was acknowledged by the end of the dvd.
